Now originally I was suppose to do a horror movie mash up but then youtube blocked my video so I basically had to re do the assignment in a whole different way… I was able to save a Preview of what the horror movie mash up would have looked liked but this is the unfinished version… the finished version I had youtube blocked it due to copyright crap so here is a lil preview and at the the bottom of this video will have the actually new final assignment i had to redo…. hope you enjoy…

Movie Mashup Preview

New assignment I had to redo so this is the final project for Ds106

The creation of a great upcoming project.

My final project will be a horror movie mash up with a unique story line, mashing up all horror movie characters and scenes from movies that would have each scene talking in a certain dialogue, for example you know how in the movie transformers, Bumblebee uses the radio to communicate with Sam by taking each piece of the radio stations dialogue’s and used them as his own way to talk. That’s exactly how my final project will be based on and so far i have movie scenes and characters from Nightmare on elm street, Child’s Play, I know what you did this summer, Saw and other movies that will be used to finalize this project. All the movies and scenes will all lead up in the end where all the horror movie characters threaten to kill their victims and don’t get the chance to, they will only be threats towards their victims with out actually killing them….. or maybe not?! ;)

So far this is just a Lil slide show of the characters that will take the spot light in my movie….

I also chose this song Ain’t No Grave Can Hold My Body Down by Johnny Cash because this song represents the horror movie characters that keep coming back in their movie sequels after they have already been killed, they just keep coming back (Except for The Shining). It just goes to show you can’t keep a good killer down.

An Album Cover [Remixed]: Go Emo Worth 4 Stars

For this assignment im basically remixing an album cover. The orginal assignment was to make an album cover with your own designs and themes you would want in it. The way how iI remixed it was turning the colors darker to give it a emo type personality I found this assignment interesting because with the album cover that i chose I was able to turn the cover into a more darker theme, basically showing its yin and yang persona.

Remix Reflection Post

Find and embed two piece of media and juxtapose them one which is the newer ‘remix’ and the other which was ‘sampled.’ What if any relationship exists between the two creators? How do you know that one is inspired by the other? What did you find out? How does it fit in with what you discovered in Ferguson’s video essays?

DMX is inspired by Bill Withers audio for the song aint no sunshine. Bill sings his version saying aint no sunshine when she is gone, its not warm when she’s away, she’s always gone too long anytime, when she is away. DMX version of the song is aint no sunshine in this song, only darkness everyday. DMX used samples of the song to record the soundtrack for the movie Exit Wounds. It fits in with Ferguson’s video’s because it shows how music that is played today have been remixed from orignial versions. They listen to the original and put certain lyrics in their own words and remix the sound.

The Original by Bill Withers

The Sample by DMX

Animated Music Video worth 4 stars

Take a favorite cartoon or anime like show, take some clips, mash them together and add music to it. Try to pick out a specific theme in your clips that follow the theme of the music. Keep an eye out for changes in the music and plan your clips accordingly.

The cartoon I chose was Pokemon. Growing up as a 90′s kid pokemon was extremly popular back in the good days and it still is today. It also shows how powerful friendship can be so this also relates to it

One Archetype, Five Movies, Five Seconds worth 3 stars

Create a five second video of one archetype from five different movies cutting together one second of each. Examples could include: Prisoners, Thieves, Beauty Queens, Kings, Robin Hoods, James Bonds, Bank Robbers, Assassins, Bad Boys, Kung Fu Masters, Femme Fatales, Sports Heroes, High School Bullies, Rogue Police Officers, Brainiacs, Pregnancies, Principals, Mean Teachers, InspirationalTeachers, Gunslingers, Gangsters, Monsters, Bartenders, Warrior Princesses, Swordsman, Knights, Mad Scientists, Nerd Girls, Obstructive Bureaucrats, Sidekicks, Wise Old Men, Hardboiled Detectives, Tough Coaches, Swooning Ladies

I chose Gangstas so the movies I used to create this was Dont be a mence to south central while drinking your juice in the hood, baby boy, friday, ATL and Training Day

Movies by numbers worth 3 stars

Create a video that artistically presents a single number in artful ways- show how it is represented in the world or nature. Add a relevant musical track, no narration, let the number and the visuals stell the story.

For this assignment I chose the letter 1 because it just shows how we as humans always need that 1 person in our life we could trust
